The objective of this work is the physico-chemical and mechanical geomaterials limestone (white and gray) and clay. Two local raw materials are abundant. The first extractionis from the region of Jebel KELLAL and the second is from the region of Jebel Ouahch in province of Constantine.
After the samples preparation in powder form for limestone and clay, and sugar on glass slides, we have implemented various analytical techniques to better understand their properties: the X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, the measurement of the microhardness, the measurement of the water porosity and measurement of moisture content.
The results of our work revealed that the white and gray limestone of Jebel KELLAL are very good qualities they possess important physico-chemical and mechanical. Therefore, they will be very useful in the construction and restoration. |
