interesting to put in the disposition of the veterinarians in Algeria, a usual values which can be
interesting in the early detection of different illness and deseas.
The first one part of this study consists in marking a synthesis of the bibliographic data of
some hematological and ionic parameters at the horse. The second part which is experimental
is divided into two; the first studies a lot of hematological (RBC, Hb, Htc, MCH, MCHC,
TRBC, WBC, Neu %, Eos %, Baso %, Lym % and Mono %) and ionic (Na, K, Cl, Ca, Mg
and P), then analyses the effects of the diffrent factors (age, breed, sex and mode of use) on
these studied parameters.
On the whole, all stocks are in physiological norms, except the chlorine and the magnesium
which are higher, the sodium with a little more spread interval and with the calcium witch is
lower than normal. The influence of the factors is not marked except for white cells, calcium
and phosphorus who differ significantly according to the age group.
The second shutter which is based on the study of effect season on explored parameters,
shows that there is a season effect on some of them ; the haemoglobin and the hematocrit are
correlated with winter season, the magnesium with summer season. Over the year, an
eosinophilia in spring and neutrophilia in autumn are noted. As for ions, hypocalcemia is
marked in winter, hypochloremia in spring and summer and a progressive decrease of the
magnesium throughout the year.

Sciences VétérinairesTags : Thyroïdienne Dexaméthasone Ovin fT4 fT3 Thyroid Dexamethasone Sheep Index. décimale : 636 Sciences Vétérinaires Résumé : Synthetic glucocorticosteroids are widely used in veterinary medicine for their antiinflammatory and immunosuppressive actions. However they are deemed to have
multiple side effects such as hypothyroidism.
The aim of this study was to define the effects of Dexamethasone (DEX) administered
parenterally (IM) at therapeutic doses conventionally used in the anti-inflammatory
and immunosuppressive treatments on the thyroid function in sheep.
Fifteen sheep of Ouled Djellal breeds were randomly divided into three groups of five
sheep each. The animals received an injection of Dexamethasone (DEXALONEND
solution) at a rate of 1.52 mg DEX / J for 6 days for group1 and 3.4 mg DEX / J for 6
days for group 2, the third group has served as control group and did not receive any
treatment. Blood samples taken over a period of 3 weeks were analyzed to define the
plasma levels of free thyroid hormones fT4 fT3.
It has been shown that Dexamethasone induced a significant decrease (P <0.05) of
serum fT4 and fT3 24 hours following the start of treatment. Hormone levels have
returned to their baseline values 24 hours after treatment withdrawal.
From these results, we can deduce that Dexamethasone antithyroid-effects are
transitory and therefore do not have a significant impact on the health of the animals.

The objective of this study was to compare the analgesic effects of buprenorphine and
butarphanol in combination with ketamine and metometodine during ovary-hysterectomy as
well as harmlessness via the cardiac, respiratory and digestive effects in the postoperatively in rabbit. This study was carried out on 15 rabbits ovariohysterectomised. The pain was assessed by monitoring the combination of the clinical parameters (heart rate, respiratory rate, digestive function and temperature), the biochemical parameters (glucose), and then by using a pain grid specific to rabbit. During this study, animals receiving buprenorphine presented a postoperative comfort, slightly higher than butorphanol without significant side effects.
Regarding these results, buprenorphine seems to have higher efficiency comparing to
butorphanol during surgery inducing moderate pain in rabbits.

Electrocardiography after an exercise test is a valuable tool in the field of horse riding to assess the physiological state of the horse, given the heavy load on the cardiovascular system during and after the exercise. This study involves monitoring some
electrocardiographic parameters at rest, after trotting exercise and after galloping exercise, along with the influence of age, breed and height of the horse on these parameters.
The study was performed on 10 Arab and Arab-barb horses through base-apex lead, the heart rate variability is calculated using the time domain analysis, and corrected QT intervals are calculated according to three different formulae.
The exercise has changed the heart rate variability indexes, most components of the
electrocardiogram and Bazett's corrected QT interval. These changes reflect the increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system and the decreased activity of the arasympathetic nervous system, inducing a rise in the amplitudes and a shortening in the durations, this latter can be affected by horse age and breed. At the level of the heart rate variability, this study allowed us to highlight an interaction between exercise and height.
