Résumé : |
Histomoniasis is a parasitic disease specific to gallinaceous species, especially turkey, where it is a major concern.
Its importance is linked to the high mortality and morbidity rate and to the decline in the performance of the affected lots, which can generate substantial economic losses.
The ban on drugs used for the control and treatment of histomnosis resulted in a marked increase in the disease.
Biological analyzes, because of their simplicity, their performance and their increasing specificity, can contribute to a better understanding of this disease.
In this perspective, we proposed to study biological parameters at the beginning of the clinical evolution of histomoniasis.
At the end of our work we found very significant variations in haematological parameters with an increase in hematocrit and marked leukocytosis, but also biochemical parameters, with an increase in amylase and a disturbance of the hepatic profile with an increased serum activity of ALAT, ASAT, LDH and amylase enzymes.
These variations can be used as elements of strong suspicion especially when the symptomatology is not very obvious
the study of these biological parameters could also have a prognostic value and follow the evolution of the disease in the affected bands.
