The closed loop dynamic behaviour is exclusively linked to the open loop behaviour around the unity gain crossover frequency wu. Therefore, the motivation of the proposed controller in this context comes from the consideration of using the idea of ‘flat phase’ around the unity gain crossover frequency wu so that the closed loop system is robust to gain variations and the step response exhibit an iso-damping property, i. e. for different gain the step response present the same overshoot. To ensure similar frequency behaviour, in a frequency range of practical interest [hb,ωω] around a given unity gain crossover frequency wu, a controller have then been proposed based on fractional order systems which will guarantee that the open-loop transfer function of a unity feedback control will be the Bode’s ideal transfer function. Illustrative examples were made to show the effectiveness of the design and the results obtained have been also presented and discussed. automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system based on fractional order operators and systems in
order to improve its performances and robustness compared to the classical controllers. The
design strategies of the proposed fractional controllers for the AVR system are based on
fractional transfer functions such that Bode’s ideal transfer function and fractional order
damped sinus function. These strategies use also the internal model control IMC with
fractional order model as well as a technique called "fractionalization" which consists in
raising a PID corrector to a real power. An analytical adjustment technique of the fractional
PIλDμ controller has also been used for the AVR system leading to a fractional PDλDμ
controller which does not exist in the classic form. Illustrative examples for each fractional
controller designed were presented and the obtained results were very satisfactory and the
performances improvement and the AVR system robustness compared to conventional
controllers were realized. - 109 f. ; 30 cm.
