Sciences VétérinairesTags : Hydatidose Homme Facteurs de risque Ruminants Fasciolose Index. décimale : 636 Sciences Vétérinaires Résumé : Hydatidosis remains a significant public health concern in North Africa. A survey
concerning variables potentially associated with family hydatidosis prevalence was conducted
among Eastern Algeria households (wilaya of Constantine). The investigation aims to
establish a preliminary work to update hydatidosis epidemiology and to highlight risk factors
in urban and rural areas. A lifestyle questionnaire has been implemented through interviews
of 1611 households of Constantine (urban area) and Aïn Abid (rural area). Factors associated
with at least one family case of hydatidosis were analyzed using multivariate logistic models.
4.6% of urban households and 14.6% of rural households reported at least one case of
hydatidosis. In the urban area, the slaughter of more than one sheep per year was associated
(P<0.05) with hydatidosis. Moreover, the slaughter of sheep by a non-professional, the
presence of stray dogs in the district and the possession of more than one dog tended (P<0.1)
to be associated with the urban risk. In the rural area, home slaughter of sheep, presence of
lesions on the lungs and/or the livers of slaughtered sheep and household members working in
animal husbandry were associated with risk, while the variable “unfamiliarity with the name
of the disease” was associated with the absence of risk. The study highlighted variables
associated with family hydatidosis in urban and rural areas and the presence, within these
areas, of main socio-ecological conditions able to maintain endemic disease. The survey
showed that slaughter cattle are the species most affected by hydatidosis (10.2%) compared to
sheep (03%) and goats (7.6%) with a higher frequency of 'liver for the three species.
Fasciolosis is more frequent in cattle (5.77%) than in sheep (2.29%) and goats (1.65%). The
survey of GPs has shown that men are more affected by hydatidosis that women with a sex
ratio of 2 / 1, the lung damage is more frequent among younger than 18 years. Distomatose
cases of human Fasciola hepatica are relatively rare. Of the 117 doctors interviewed, only
9.24% of diagnosed cases of distomatose. The search of Fasciola hepatica is undertaken in
humans. Fasciolosis in ruminants should be treated to reduce economic losses. Strengthened
health vigilance seems therefore necessary to implement in the surveyed region for a better
control of the disease. - 142 f. ; 30 cm.

majority of world countries. The controls of such problems pass by the knowledge of the risk
factors responsible of the apparition and the persistence of this pathology in the farm, like this
the knowledge of the dominant epidemiological models.
In our study, we have tested, to determine, by means of the questionnaire destined to the breeders
of dairy cows, the control of the risk factors of intramammary infections per the breeders, like
this appreciate the prevalence of subclinical mastitis in this breeding by means of the California
Mastitis Test (CMT).
Our results showed that the quasi totality of farmers did not respect nor the rule, nor the hygiene
of milking. The results of the CMT showed that 75% of prevalence of subclinical mastitis in
dairy herds, and 40% of subclinical mastitis of dairy cows. Concerning the affected quarters, the
CMT results showed that 80% of quarters are healthy, 18% are infected and 2% are not
functional. - 113 f. ; 30 cm.

networks across all wilayas to combat zoonoses that cause animal health and public health problems.
Zoonoses are the major concern of veterinary and human health services.
The objective of this work is i. To update the epidemiology of rabies, tuberculosis (TB) and animal
brucellosis, ii. To assess the functioning of the RES in the Skikda region, as well as its critical points,
iii. To take stock of the epidemiological situation of these zoonoses in humans.
A first survey was carried out with the services of the Directorate of Agricultural Services (DSA),
where data on the epidemiological situation of zoonoses were collected from the archives (2011 to
2015). A second survey was carried out among 76 veterinary practitioners (private and state), the
questionnaire focused on the knowledge and functioning of the RES. A third survey focused on
zoonoses in humans for 5 successive years using data from the CSP (2011 to 2015). The fourth survey
was carried out among 14 doctors (SEMEP) of the DSP on the evolution of rabies, tuberculosis and
brucellosis in humans and the knowledge of animal RES.
Data processing was done with the Excel 2007 software for the DSA and DSP surveys, and the SPSS
version 24 software for surveys of veterinarians and doctors.
In 5 years, no cases of brucellosis and / or tuberculosis have been recorded in sheep and goats. Cases
of rabies declined from 2011 to 2015, the incidence rate fell from 0.012% in 2011 to 0.006% in 2015.
The incidence rate of bovine TB increased from 0.013% in 2011 to 0.035% in 2015. As for the
incidence rate of brucellosis of 0.0005%, it doubled in 2015. By analyzing data on incidence rates of
the main zoonoses we see a re-emergence of tuberculosis In bovines and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis
(PET) in humans, from 258 cases in 2011to 361ca ses in2015.
The eradication of major zoonotic diseases can not be achieved without close cooperation between the
DSA and the DSP. Awareness of livestock keepers and the human population goes hand in hand with
the application of zoonotic control measures (screening, vaccination) in order to reduce the risks. - 151 f. ; 30 cm.
