As we know, learning EFL is a difficult task which requires mastering the four skills.
Moreover, the speaking skill is the most important one because it plays a significant role in
both of educational studies and everyday discussions. The main aim of the study is to find out
what students can do in order to successfully develop their speaking skills. So, the general
idea behind this research is to shed light on some effective strategies that students need to
develop their speaking skill and be fluent speakers of EFL. As far as this research is
concerned, throughout the use of a questionnaire we have collected and analyzed data. This
questionnaire was distributed to the Oral Expression English teachers and First Year Master
Students in Constantine 1 University. The teachers’ questionnaire revealed that teaching the
speaking skills require effective strategies “Practice”, methods “CLT” and techniques
“Discussion” are very helpful for students to improve their speaking skills. The results of the
questionnaire show that the majority of students require extra help in improving their English
speaking skills. |
