Résumé : |
In this piece of work, a study of effects of tides on satellites and their parent-planets is
approached. Starting by introducing the two-body problem and then compute its solution
which represents the trajectory equation.
Next, the Gauss theory is computed to explain how the trajectory of an object revolving
around another one and solving it using universal variables.
Following up with explaining the tidal theory and the main concepts of it by computing
the tidal potential and tidal force equations with an explication of the oceanic tides.
Finally, I have elected the tides on satellites of giant planets and their effects on shapes,
orbits or even in their morphology by introducing the tidal potential theory and tidal dynamics. |
