Enterobacteriaceae resistance profile urinary tract infections identification. |
Index. décimale : |
720 Microbiologie |
Résumé : |
Enterobacteriaceae represent one of the main families of Gram negative bacilli
responsible for serious urinary tract infections.
Our study was conducted at bacteriological laboratory of regional military university
hospital in Constantine "Allawa Benbaatouche" and at microbiology laboratory of University
Mentouri Brothers Constantine 1; during two months (March, Mai 2015). A total of 740 urine
samples from hospitalized patients are performed, three Enterobacteriaceae strains were
identified.
The purpose of this study is to establish an identification algorithm of the 3 strains
isolated from urine, this has been achieved firstly by morphological and biochemical features
that have been performed by classical and API20E galleries; and secondly determining the
resistance profile with respect to antibiotics tested in order to evaluate and highlight the
resistance state of this group of germs.
A total sensitivity to the whole β-lactam in E. coli has been revealed; and the same
profile in K. pneumoniae except ampicillin to which it has a natural resistance, also an
acquired resistance in P.mirabilis which may be due to mutagenesis. As regards to other
families of antibiotics the three strains showed a full sensitivity to these antibiotics; except the
p. mirabilis which is resistant to colistin and furan (natural and specific character). Globally;
no acquired resistance was observed in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli,
indicating that these two strains remain wild.
The permanent change of Enterobacteriaceae resistance to different antibiotics should
lead to strengthen monitoring and organize periodic controls in our country, in order to
control all kinds of anomalies. |
