The objective of this work is the design of a half-adder based on a photonic crystal, for
applications to logic gate functions using RSoft software with bandsolve and fullwave
modules. For this we have studied a photonic crystal structure, this structure represents two
logical gate, these logic gates is present by an appearance of a photonic band gap within
this photonic crystal. Photonic crystals will only make it possible to realize real optical
functions and to control the flows of light only if one introduces defects there. If we inject
into this defect an electromagnetic mode whose energy is in the gap band of the photonic
crystal or located around it, it finds itself completely confined, since it is surrounded by a
reflective material at this wavelength.
We started with the results obtained on the two logic gates « XOR » and« NOT » based on
the photonic crystals using the T junction, and then we simulate the two logic gates where
we observe that the transmission increased during the addition reflecting rods and the
contrast ratio improves with a fast response time. And we end with the simulation of a
logic gate « XNOR » which is cascaded by the two logic gates « XOR » and« NOT ». |
