This study is summarized in the bigger practical part, this latter itself is divided into two fundamental chapters. In the first chapter we have emphasized on the main characters of the story especially the heroes. To study these characters we have used the analysis grid of PhillipeHamon made on: the being, the done, the hierarchical importance. Concerning the being we have analyzed the names and the physical aspect of the characters. In the done we have been interested in their thematic and active roles. Whereas in the hierarchical importance we have attempted to classify and evaluate the characters. In the second chapter, it has been reserved to the analysis of the different relations that the characters interweave between each other, as well as the relations between the five stories of the novel, of which we have tried to demonstrate the points of convergence and ressemblance between each other. We have tried through this work to explain the operation of the characters system in Mohammed Dib literary work.
