The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of cooperative group learning on improving
students’ speaking skill. It also attempts to shed some light on the importance of the affective
side of the students in the process of learning a foreign language and how Cooperative
language learning could create a good and relaxed atmosphere. The hypothesis adopted in this
study is that CLL would create an affective learning environment, which in turn would help
students to enhance their speaking skill. In this work, we have relied on the questionnaire. The
results which have been obtained from the questionnaires were administered to second year
LMD students and to teachers of oral expression at the department of English, Mentouri
University of Constantine, showed that cooperative group work is a good technique because it
has positive effects on students’ affective side, and it gives them an opportunity to maximize
their oral production and to enhance it. |
