But it is not the case with “The Bear”. “The Bear” is a perfect story to illustrate Faulkner’s philosophical concerns about the concepts of: Respect, Ownership, Man’s sins and his duties towards others especially the black slaves. Before dealing with the story, it is preferable to shed a light on the historical background of the region: The American South; during the period from 1820 to1870 which means decades before and after the civil war; as well as the Reconstruction Period and its effects on the whole region. We do not forget the author who devoted himself and his talent to write about the history of his own region. It plays an important role in the different studies of language contact which leads to language variation. The focus is on the resulting combination of languages with varying degrees of fluency through several levels in order to illustrate the main aim of this research which is to show what, when and how code-switching occurs. Our research is about code-switching among English University Students examines the above aim by analyzing the data drawn from the ethnographic study. The different patterns (code-switching and code-mixing) are identified, in addition to borrowing which is included to show its role within this phenomenon. The theoretical part consists of the different definitions, types, and causes of the several concepts (codeswitching, code-mixing, borrowing separately, code switching and code mixing, code switching and borrowing). Each concept has been explained from different sides of discussion. The practical side will show what, when and how the data were collected. It is considered as a summary of all the relevant data that have a direct relation with the theoretical side. Our hypothesis came to be validated because the results show that students when learn more than two foreign languages they code switch more. The second view is that of the Britsh born Pakistanis who stayed in Britain and see her as their first and may be their only home country. The object of the present research is to analyse the process that the Pakistani Community followed to integrate into the British society, and that strengthened the advantages that the United Kingdom offered when she passed the British Nationality Act which gave more support to the Pakistani Community to integrate into Britain in social, economic and educational spheres. The discussion reveals that the British born Pakistanis had no other choice but integration into British society, thus they found themselves torn between two cultures; that of their ancestors and the one of the host society with a support from the second side offered many advantages such as education.
