Résumé : |
The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the renaissance movement of 1917 to 1930, the impact of great migration of Blacks from South to the North, escaping hard conditions of Jim Crow laws, this on one hand, and on the other the black gatherings particularly in Harlem, New York constituting a community with its peculiarities, thanks to the effective contributions of intellectuals and artists through a new movement called the New Negro or Harlem Renaissance urging the Blacks to struggle peacefully to gain more rights. Despite some skeptic opinions, a truth has to be elucidated according to references I have based my work on: the black individual has become more confident in himself. The black community is a reality within the U.S.A, no one can deny its rights and this thanks to the struggles it has led, and to artistic contribution which has made of the USA a nation with specificities, different from white man‘s country of origin. |
