Résumé :	Nowadays, translation has become an essential activity because of the need to communicate with other people who use different languages. It can be practiced when the translator has a basic knowledge on both source and target languages, however; the translator may face some difficulties while he translating some texts such as those of political discourses. In this respect, this dissertation aims to investigate difficulties that third year students of English Languages , in the Department of Letters and English Languages at University of Fréres Mentouri of Constantine, encounter in translating political terms from English into Arabic, and the strategies used during their translation process. To achieve the research objectives, a test that consists of translating twelve sentences from English into Arabic is used as a means of research; each sentence has a political term or expression. The results abstained show that most of third year students have difficulties in translating political terms from English into Arabic. Through the test it is clearly demonstrated that most of them use literal translation which leads them to an inaccurate equivalence. Therefore, Students should be aware of political language and the adequate strategies used to translate it in order to master the political language and to be able to translate it easily.
