The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of the revising stage on the
students’ final paragraphs. We will try to answer the question whether or not students are
aware of the importance of the revising stage, if they actually revise their initial drafts or not,
and which strategies students use to improve their final papers. To reach such an aim, the
questionnaire is used as a data collection. A questionnaire is administrated to teachers from
the department of English at "Frères Mentouri" University, Constantine. It aims at finding out
about their attitudes towards the writing process and the importance of the revising stage for
better written pieces. A second questionnaire is administrated to the students to bring out
their perceptions of the writing process stages and their beliefs about the importance of the
revising phase in the writing process. The findings or results collected in this study
corroborated the hypothesis whether students revise their paragraphs or not |
