With the growing need for improving communication skills in foreign languages and with the great demand for developing what ‘Communicative Competence’, CLT has come into scene as the most influential approach of language teaching. The present study attempts to investigate the impact of implementing CLT on promoting Algerian EFL students’ motivation and improving their speaking and interaction skills. The study is based on two questionnaires administered to both teachers and first year LMD students of English at Larbi Ben M’hidi University – Oum El Bouaghi. The questionnaire is a useful mode for collecting data about the participants’ attitudes, views about CLT and its effectiveness in the Algerian context.
