Résumé : |
This work aims to investigate the British Imperialism in India through the efforts made by the British East India Company as a case study. Policies that have been followed by the company during the second half of the eighteenth and first half of the nineteenth centuries, which helped the latter to impose its control over some areas that have been subjected to those policies, thus forming the so-called British India.
This dissertation is divided into three main chapters. Starting with the foundation years of the East India Company its ups and downs, that is to say a historical background. Events that took place during the eighteenth century, it gradually changed the course of things, to become the company more than just a guest, but the ruler of Indian territories, thanks to its well-organized policies. Ending with the Sepoys Mutiny of 1857, and its immediate result embodied in the transformation of the company's rule, which lasted more than two centuries, to be replaced by direct control by the British Government |
