Résumé : |
The present work examines the social and the economic position of the British Women, especially the political status through the Franchise. The British politics was totally marginalizing their women citizen till the doubt whether they belong to the British society or not. Thus, it is quite interesting to know the great services which were made by women in their society. All this reflected positively in the recognition about their rights, through the philosophical ideas which insist on women‟s rights, such as John Stuart Mill and Mary Wollstonecraft‟s books. Those books contributed largely in awakening women especially the Suffragettes, where it emerged many organizations in order to realize their demands in the Franchise. Women‟s struggles remained the same till the First World War in 1914 when women‟s energy comes to turning the focus on the war. This what encouraged the British government to recognize about women‟s political rights immediately after the end of the war in 1918. |
