To have an idea on the impact of this process, a description of the ravages of the war is vital to have a clearer idea of the change that the Welfare brought. The first chapter talks about the impact of the Second World War on Britain and about the reasons that were behind the unexpected defeat of Churchill and his party in the elections of 1945. A chance for those members Attlee recruited to show what they were able to do. The second chapter tackles directly the topic starting by the Beveridge Report concerning social security, education and housing. The principles of this reform can be found in The Beveridge Report and The Keynesian Theory. For economy, a plan was established known as ―the Nationalisation‖ that improved the productivity.
