Résumé : |
This dissertation is a study of humans’ interaction with humanoid robots who
hold a positronic brain in which Isaac Asimov integrates his Three Laws of Robotics. In
his novel I, Robot, Asimov changes the old negative viewpoint toward robots to a
positive one through his new friendly and decent robot characters that are governed by
his Three Laws of Robotics. Despite the fact that Asimov succeeded in introducing a
brand-new view of robot characters, he also shows through his storylines the possibility
that the old ‘Frankenstein Complex’ might be regenerated and emotions of anxiety,
envy, and even panic might awaken again among humans. In this regard, the work
focuses on presenting the different reactions of humans toward the new kind of robots
and shows how the old ‘Frankenstein Complex’ might be resurrected in the future. The
study relies on Isaac Asimov’s novel I, Robot (1950) |
