Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present research intends to examine the notion of ‘Anti-heroism’ in Ayi Kwei Armah’s The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, and tackle the problems of post-independent Ghana under Nkrumah’s regime. It depicts the general disillusionment in the Ghanaian society and highlights the reasons of the socio-political and economic decline, focusing on corruption as a one of the social ills. The research turns around the protagonist of the novel ‘The man’ by following his daily life and stressing the pressure and difficulties he encounters. It aims to examine the protagonist’s society, and how it affects the way he thinks and acts.
