Résumé : |
The present research attempts to examine the effects of listening to podcasts and radio phonic programs on developing the students‘ oral performance. This innovative learning tool is specifically used to motivate and enhance students to boost their fluency and accuracy in English. Accordingly, the aim of this study is twofold: to achieve the several benefits of using podcasts that can be more efficient and effective in assisting students while learning foreign languages in general and English in particular, and to explore whether podcasts serve to improve and facilitate students‘ learning and study skills in addition to investigate the students‘ attitudes towards this material in use. The podcasts‘ impact on students‘ learning was evaluated through the qualitative method: one questionnaire has been administered to second year students at the Department of Letters and English Language at Mentouri Brothers University, in order to gather the necessary data about their attitudes towards using this strategy. The results obtained revealed that podcasts have a substantial influence on developing students‘ speaking skill and other features of learning, which means that using podcasts helps to improve students‘ learning and study skills. Hence, this research recommends taking into account the benefits of integrating podcasts in the Oral Expression module at the Department of Letters and English Language, at Mentouri Brothers University |
