Résumé : |
Classroom interaction is a major practice in Foreign Language Learning. And because of their
anxiety, stress, lack of motivation and self-confidence, some students do not interact in the
classroom. For this reason, the use of a helpful strategy is needed in order to encourage
students to communicate with a high level of motivation and confidence. Hence, the aim of
the present study is to shed light on the Think-pair-share strategy with its aspects and its
relationship with classroom interaction and the speaking skill through teachers’ and students`
attitudes. Therefore, we hypothesized that if teachers hold positive attitudes towards the
Think-pair-share as an interactive strategy, they would use it to enhance students speaking
skill. For this, we conducted two questionnaires; one was given to a sample of 10 Oral
Expression teachers and another to 60 2nd year students at the Department of Letters and the
English Language, Des Frères Mentouri University, Constantine. The results of the analysis of
the questionnaires reveal that the majority of teachers and students agree on the fact that
Think-pair-share strategy is effective in motivating the students to participate and interact in
class, and that would help them to develop their speaking skills, and this confirms our
hypothesis. |
