Résumé : |
Students tend to have different ways of perceiving, possessing and grasping information. Some
are visual learners while others are auditory and kinaesthetic, this difference in the ways people
perceive knowledge is called ‘learning styles’. However, not all students succeed in identifying
their learning styles and studying according to them, which makes their learning process difficult
and slow. With this in mind, a study which is made up of two chapters was conducted to
investigate the importance of students being aware of their learning styles in facilitating their
learning process. This study was carried out among 22 Master One students of English at the
Department of Letters and English Language, University “Des Frères Mentouri”, Constantine,
who were selected randomly to serve the aim of the study. A questionnaire was used for students
to investigate our hypothesis which stipulates that if students are aware of their learning styles,
their learning process will be made at ease. Therefore, the results obtained through the
questionnaire have revealed that an awareness of learning styles is a key to an easy learning
process, and it is considered as a predictor of success in different academic areas. |
