This dissertation aims at describing and analysing the change that occurred in the British electoral system and its impact on the1945 General Election including the major events that happened at that time. This research describes the origins of the welfare facts that had occurred in the United Kingdomand actual implementation of the program between 1945 and 1951. It explores the origins of the welfare idea and the actual legislation of the British Welfare State between 1945 and 1951. In this research, the information given is based on a descriptive analytical approach to explore the historical events of the past and the origins of the Welfare State in comparison to the actual legislation. This study is divided into two chapters. The first chapter talks about the impact of the Second World War on Britain and the reasons that were behind the unexpected defeat of Churchill and his party in the 1945 General Election, as well as the reasons behind Labour's win. It also introduces members of the Labour government that implemented the welfare reforms. The second chapter details the welfare reforms starting from the Beveridge Report to the actual legislation during the period of 1945 and 1951 |
