It investigates the gains achieved by this social movement that sought to reach women’s social and political rights and emancipation. This research tackles the traditional role of women in the pre-post World War II period that was marked by feminist activists who struggled for women’s suffrage and the involvement of a huge number of women into the labor force with World War II. It also deals with women’s return to domesticity once the war was over. Moreover, this work sheds light on the influence of the ideology of the “perfect housewife” on women’s lives and the beginning of their awareness.
