Résumé : |
For many long years, the task of translation was devoted only to translators and the use of
their own capacities and expertise in translating texts, novels, books or any other linguistic
material from a source language into a target language. A good translator is thought to be
always able to produce an acceptable target text, but of course, this depends on his
background knowledge and his awareness about the different linguistic and cultural aspects of
the two languages. Furthermore, translation requires the mastering of both languages. The
process of translation is too expensive and may need a long time to be done, and therefore,
man created machine translation, a tool that could replace human kind. It was developed
through the years in order to get fast and immediate translation. The present study deals with
the effectiveness of using machine translation in acquiring technical vocabulary. This study
hypothesizes that the use of machine translation can help Master 1 students of translation at
University of Constantine 1 acquiring technical vocabulary. In this matter, for the sake of
checking the hypothesis validation a questionnaire and a test were submitted to a randomly
chosen sample of 25 students of translation. As for the questionnaire, it was given to support
the hypothesis. |
