Just as speaking is more than the production of sounds, writing is much more than producing graphic symbols, it is a prominent skill that has proved to be highly necessary for language learners. Hence, writing is considered as a valuable part in any language course; it helps the students fulfil an array of objectives. Only by dexterous writings, learners can express their thoughts, their existing mental conditions, and communicate ideas. Thus, the ability of expressing oneself clearly and persuasively remains at top priority towards achieving the academic and professional success. The latter would only be reached by the incorporation of various effective and productive teaching and learning strategies among which efficient time management is of an utmost importance. The present study investigates the hypothesis which states: “If Second Year L.M.D Students managed their time efficiently, they would better their writing performance.” This paper, as a result, focuses on the significance of the teachers’ role in providing learners with effective time management’ tips and techniques necessary to overcome the dilemmas of writing and make the latter an enjoyable process. It, also, purports at determining the extent to which the efficient use of time is contributive to proficient writing. To carry out this study, a group of thirty (30) Second Year L.M.D Students in the Department of Letters and English Language at Mentouri Constantine l University were submitted to a test which purports primarily at determining their writing’ proficiency levels. Thereafter, they were invited to fill in a questionnaire and a weekly evaluation chart. Additionally, a teachers’ questionnaire is conducted with ten (10) “Writing Expression” teachers. The latter were kindly asked to express their opinions and standpoints about some aspects related to the subject matter. The results of the aforementioned research’ tools have |
