It investigates students’ and teachers’ views about groupwork and the role it plays to enhance motivation in the English class. The questionnaire is used as a tool to collect data. One questionnaire was administered to third year LMD students of English, at Ben M’hidi University, Oum El Bouaghi. Another questionnaire was addressed to their teachers at the same university. The analysis of the results of the two questionnaires showed that third year students of English have positive attitudes towards pair/group work, but consider individual work as equally important. Moreover, third year teachers of English care about the affective side of the students and use CL techniques to motivate them to learn.
