Résumé : |
The research in hand seeks to shed some light on the theory of Sentence Accent in speech,
and the relationship between its Perception and Production. For this matter, a correlational
study was conducted to determine to what extent the perception and production of sentence
accent by the students are related. In order to test our hypothesis which predicts that there
would a significant positive relation between students’ perception of Sentence Accent and
their production of it; and in order to answer our research questions a correlational research
design is conducted. A sample of 24 first year Master one students from the groups of
English Language and Applied Linguistics in the department of English - Mentouri
University Constantine 01, have been randomly chosen to answer a test of two parts in order
to investigate their ability to perceive and produce sentence accent. The obtained results were
analyzed quantitatively. Findings from this study indicate that there is not any relationship
between students' Perception and Production of Sentence Accent |
