Résumé : |
Facebook is one of the most popular social networking among people, especially University
students; it allows them to communicate with each other, by exchanging their thoughts and ideas.
The present research aims at investigating whether students’ writing skill is impacted by Facebook
or not and the type of impact. By examining this impact, it has been hypothesized that if students
are usual textures of Facebook, their writing skill will be negatively effected. To verify the validity
of this hypothesis, a quantitative method has been conducted in which two questionnaires are
administered for both teachers of Written Expression module and first year LMD students of
English Department at the University of Constantine 1. The main results obtained from the study
showed that both students and teachers revealed that Facebook has an impact on the students’
writing skill and this impact is a negative one. Hence, the study hypothesis is confirmed. |
