The present study has investigated the effect of tutoring on third year high school students at El
Hassan Ibn El Haithem in Didouche Mourad, Constantine. This study aims to see how tutoring
affects the learning of students whether it is positive or negative, and whether it is ever lasting or
last for a specific period of time only. This research had aimed to see where the trust of students
lies: at schools or tutoring. The hypothesis in this study if students take tutoring courses in English,
they will enhance their level in learning English as a foreign language. The effect of tutoring on
students in learning English had been investigated through a questionnaire aimed for both
categories of students: those who take tutoring courses, and those who do not. In addition to this,
a questionnaire had been administered to teachers of English who teach/taught third year classes in
previous and present years. The major findings show that Algerian high school students support
tutoring courses and see that it has a positive impact on their learning of English. |
