Résumé :	Writing in a foreign language is a challenging task for student writers. It is said to be difficult because of the rules, attention and practice that it requires. Generally, most of the learners are not able to produce an acceptable essay because of the many errors they include. The present study aims at examining the efficacy of using word processor software for improving English as a Foreign students’ essays as it may help them correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes as well as to set organization in their papers a time-efficient way. A questionnaire designed to ten written expression English teachers at the Department of English,-Frères Mentouri- Constantine 1. It is used to collect data and check the validity of the hypothesis stating that the use of word processing software is likely to help in facilitating and improving English as Foreign students’ essays because it assists them in avoiding different types of mistakes linked to spelling, grammar, mechanics, and format. The results are in the direction of our hypothesis and evidence that the word processor software is a helping tool for students in their task to write essays free of different types of mistakes related mainly to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
