Résumé : |
In learning a second and a foreign language, learners must be aware of its vocabulary in
order to achieve mastery in the target language and accomplish their learning objectives.
However, in the process of expanding and developing their vocabulary size, they find it
hard to decide on which ways are the most helpful in acquiring new words. Therefore,
this study aims at investigating the teachers and learners attitudes towards the role of English
YouTube videos in developing learners’ vocabulary mastery at the Faculty of Letters and
The English Language , Constantine -1- University and whether YouTube can be used as
a vocabulary learning and mastery tool. Based on this, we hypothesize that learners and
teachers attitudes towards English YouTube videos, would be positive. To test the validity
of our research hypothesis, and collect the required data, two questionnaires were
administered to both Oral Expression teachers and first year students. The findings from
the two questionnaires revealed that first year EFL students at the Faculty of Letters and
The English Language use English YouTube videos as a way to promote and enrich their
vocabulary mastery. In other words, YouTube has a positive role on the development of
students ‘ vocabulary mastery which confirms the research hypothesis |
