The present study attempts to explore the effect of watching movies / series on language
learning development from the learners’ point of view. The study attempts to answer the
following question: How do learners perceive the effect of watching English movies/series on
the development of their linguistic skills? To answer this question, a sample of 26 Algerian
students, learning English as a foreign language in the Department of Letters and English
language, at Mentouri University, Constantine 1, has been selected randomly and requested to
answer a questionnaire. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of the participants
think that English movies and series have a positive influence on their language learning skills,
besides their belief in the importance of audiovisual methods in improving learning English as
a foreign language. |
