Résumé : |
Speaking anxiety is a psychological disorder that occurs in any learning contexts. In the
Algerian EFL class, speaking English is impacted by anxiety. The main objective of this
research was, therefore, to examine the problem of communication fear from various
viewpoints, taking into consideration its significant parameters. To fulfill this aim, which
intended to prove that If EFL learners are put in hard situations and surrounded by some
disturbing factors, this will lead them to suffer from speaking anxiety, a case study research
was conducted at Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine 1. For data collection, an online
questionnaire via Facebook for EFL Master 1 students of Didactics was used. The participants
of the study were 24 out of 120 students of Didactics in Mentouri University, Constantine.
The information obtained through this research tool was analyzed quantitatively. The analysis
of the results confirmed that all these students encounter speaking fear to a certain extent. In
this path, learners suffer from anxiety when they are in particular situations and/or due to
several causing factors; hence, their speaking performance in this case is not at its best. On
that account, coping with this phenomenon is extremely crucial to improve the speaking skill
inside EFL Algerian classrooms |
