Résumé : |
The aim of this dissertation is to explore students’ and teachers’ perceptions of the relationship
between the use of collaborative learning in the oral expression class and the improvement of
students ' speaking skills. The data were collected through self-completed questionnaires
administered to a sample of twenty third year LMD students and eight teachers of oral
expression at the Department of English at Mentouri Brothers University, Constantine. The
obtained results have shown that collaborative learning is an effective technique for increasing
language practice and participation in oral expression classes which in turn enhance students’
speaking skills. On the basis of these results, the research hypothesis which states that “the use of
collaborative learning during the oral expression sessions will help third year students to improve
their speaking skills” is confirmed. Hence, the most important implication for instruction can be
the necessity of using collaborative tasks in the teaching of speaking. |
