Résumé :	This research work explored extroversion as a psychological factor in language learning and Algerian English learners’ perception of their social profile and the relationship between extroversion and speaking proficiency. The research hypothesised that if learners were highly sociable individuals, then they would report themselves as extrovert learners and would positively relate this personality trait with engagement in speaking activities proficiency. The research used a questionnaire administered to first-year students at the Department of English, University of Constantine 1, to collect data relevant to the research aim. Obtained results reveal a significantly social profile among Algerian learners of English and a reported positive relationship between extroversion, learning engagement, and speaking proficiency. Nonetheless, obtained results reveal a sensed reluctance among learners to engage actively in risky speaking activities.
