Résumé : |
This study intends to investigate the effectiveness of improving students’ vocabulary stock
through listening to songs. The main objective is to show that listening can be the best
pedagogical strategy to enhance Second year LMD students’ vocabulary and speaking skill.
Accordingly, the integration of songs in oral expression classrooms can be advantageous for
EFL learners in terms of learning the vocabulary and improving their speaking skill. It is
hypothesized in this study that if students have positive attitudes towards listening activities in
oral expression session, their vocabulary knowledge will be enhanced. To attain the research
outcomes, two questionnaires were selected as the most suitable research tools in order to check
our hypothesis. First, we have chosen randomly a sample of 15 second year LMD students at
the English department of Les Fréres Mentouri Constantine 1. And the second questionnaire
was administered to oral expression teachers in the English department. The data findings
revealed that both teachers and students agree that listening to songs is one of the most
substantial, alternative, and effective strategies that aid students in ameliorating their
vocabulary knowledge. |
