Résumé : |
The present dissertation is composed of two main chapters. The first one is concerned with
the theoretical part which presents general concepts about intonation. The second one is
devoted to the practical part which considers the description and the analysis of the obtained
results. The research seeks to shed some light on investigating the relationship between
students’ ability to perceive and produce meaning using intonation. In order to test our
hypothesis that said: students who are good at perceiving meaning using intonation would be
good at producing meaning using intonation. For this purpose 21 subjects of first year master
students of applied languages at Mentouri University, Constantine 1, have been chosen to
answer and record the listening and the speaking tests in order to investigate the relationship
between the two (2) variables. The results have shown that there is no relationship between
students’ ability to perceive and produce meaning using intonation |
