Résumé : |
Mrs. Dalloway (1925) by Virginia Woolf and All the Bright Places (2015) by Jennifer
Niven are two well-known novels from two different periods of history, both dealing with
mental health issues. The primary aim of this research is to dive into these stories in order to
examine the situation of both males and females in a Victorian society compared with a
contemporary one. In addition, the structural approach is used to analyse the general
description of the main characters’ conflicts and setting. The psychological approach is also
used to analyse the disorders experienced by the characters. By the end of this research, a
comparative study is held in which all the common points between the two stories concerning
the main characters’ mental health is analysed. |
