Résumé : |
Writing is considered as a difficult skill to master for foreign language learners. In order to
master this skill, learners should follow the writing process, which includes several stages,
and be aware of its major aspects. For such reasons, teachers of writing are always searching
for the best methods and tools to develop their students’ writing. The use of technological
tools in the process of learning and teaching has become a notable phenomenon nowadays.
This year, for example, students and teachers use Google Classroom as an urgent tool to
study virtually. Accordingly, our research aims to find out whether the use of Google
Classroom as a main technological tool in writing leads to enhancing the students’ writing
skills. It is, therefore, hypothesized that Google Classroom is an effective tool to develop the
writing skills of second year students of English at the Department of English at Mentouri
Brothers, Constantine1 University. This study was carried out using a descriptive method,
where two questionnaires were administered to collect the data. The first one was given to ten
Written Expression teachers and the second one was given to thirty second-year students of
English. The analysis of the two questionnaires revealed that our hypothesis was not
confirmed, because Google Classroom, according to the teachers and students, was not an
effective tool to teach writing; the students did not make any improvement in writing. |
