Résumé : |
The primary goal of this study is to examine the attitudes towards the role of body language
in improving EFL speaking ability. It has been proposed that teachers of oral expression
should increase their use of body language in order to improve students` speaking ability. To
test the validity of this hypothesis, thirty-three (33) second-year English students from the
English department at the University of frère Mentouri, and eight (08) oral expression
teachers also from the English department at the University of frère Mentouri were given
two questionnaires to accomplish during the academic year 2020-2021 in order to learn more
about the impact of classroom body language on the development of speaking ability. There
was enough evidence to show that both students and teachers recognize the value of body
language in the classroom as an effective pedagogical strategy for improving students'
speaking skill. In another terms, the results demonstrate that both teachers and students use
body language which helps in improving the speaking ability in class. |
