Résumé : |
Identity and racism had been always the central themes in Toni Morrison’s literary works.
This study investigates the concept and the meaning of home for the African American
community.
Moreover, it explores the identity quest through the main character Frank Money, a 24
years old Korean War veteran who returned back to America affected by Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder due to the violence he witnessed in the war. His journey toward finding
the real home starts when he received a message that he must come and save his ill sister
Cee in the south.
The analysis of this study would be through approaching the historical and psychoanalytical methods. It would helpful in offering a deep understanding of the issues that
African Americans suffered and still suffer from in the American society. Furthermore, it
identifies and locates home of African Americans and how they fought to preserve their
identity and gain their human rights |
