Most students of English as a foreign language find the writing process challenging. This could
be due to various reasons, among of which is the inappropriate use of teaching methods. Various
studies have demonstrated the fruitfulness of the cooperative learning method in enhancing
students’ writing ability. The present research aims at investigating the effect of such method
on the students’ writing proficiency at the Department of Letters and the English language,
University “Des Frères Mentouri”, Constantine. In the light of the present research aim, we
hypothesized that if students learn cooperatively, their written proficiency will improve. To
check the validity of our hypothesis, we administered two questionnaires: one was directed to
the written expression teachers and one to third year students at the Department of Letters and
the English Language, University “Des Frères Mentouri”, Constantine. On the basis of the
examination of the two questionnaires, we have come out with the conclusion that cooperative
learning has a positive effect on students’ written proficiency. In other words, the results
obtained from this study confirm the hypothesis stated previouslyDiplome : Master 2 Permalink : https://bu.umc.edu.dz/master/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11136 The impact of cooperative learning on students writing skill : The case of third year students of english at the university “des frères mentouri constantine [texte imprimé] / Ikram Guechi, Auteur ; Sara Hezili, Auteur ; Fatima-Zohra Semakdji, Directeur de thèse . - CONSTANTINE [ALGERIE] : Université Frères Mentouri Constantine, 2016 . - 83 f. ; 30 cm.
