Résumé : |
This research work explored extroversion as a psychological factor in language
learning and Algerian English learners’ perception of their social profile and the relationship
between extroversion and speaking proficiency. The research hypothesised that if learners
were highly sociable individuals, then they would report themselves as extrovert learners and
would positively relate this personality trait with engagement in speaking activities
proficiency. The research used a questionnaire administered to first-year students at the
Department of English, University of Constantine 1, to collect data relevant to the research
aim. Obtained results reveal a significantly social profile among Algerian learners of English
and a reported positive relationship between extroversion, learning engagement, and speaking
proficiency. Nonetheless, obtained results reveal a sensed reluctance among learners to
engage actively in risky speaking activities. |

Résumé : |
The current research aims to investigate the perceptions of the role of ICT resources
(information and communication technologies) on the academic writing of third year LMD
students in the University of Constantine university. The research included a random sample
of 37 students and adopted a descriptive method to collect data, mainly a student’s
questionnaire. Following collection and analysis of data, the results showed that students are
aware about the importance of academic writing for their learning process. However,
participants admitted that they find academic writing more challenging, as it has more
restricting rules. Additionally, participants admitted that they recognize the benefits of ICT
resources and tools for learning and their contribution in their writing improvement and praise
their use for EFL learning purposes. However, they admitted that they tend more to use
traditional writing learning methods in classrooms rather than ICT resources in online
learning. Based on the obtained results, it is to suggest that students think about the positive
role of ICT resources in improving their academic writing |

Résumé : |
The undemanding notion of incorporating the element of emotions as part of foreign
language learning was only approached by handful researchers despite the existing
psychological and anthropological evidence of the relationship between language and
emotion. Focusing primarily on the development of knowledge and the use of the new
language, English as a Foreign Language classes in Algeria have unfairly disregarded
the discussion of emotion as a valuable variable in the equation of language proficiency.
The latter cannot occur without the language user mastering the communication of their
feelings which can be a demanding task when using a foreign language. In essence, the
present study aims at highlighting the differences in emotionality between English and
Algerian Vernacular Arabic among Algerian bilinguals. In pursuance of this aim,
members of the American Corner in Constantine were selected as the target population
of the study. A cluster of 15 individuals were settled on to for our sample. They were
presented with three online questionnaires constituting of an edited version of Dewaele
& Pavlenko‘s 2001-2003 web Bilingualism and Emotions Questionnaire and 2 selfreports- one in Algerian Vernacular and the other in English. The results obtained from
