This dissertation aims at studying the relationship between the students’soothing
strategies and their anxiety in oral performances. More specifically, it investigates the
case of Master two EFL students at the University of Mentouri-Constantine1. It is an
attempt to see whether the use of those strategies influences their speaking anxiety in
oral performances or not.The results show that there is no relationship between
language anxiety and strategies used to reduce it, which disconfirms our hypothesis
which stipulates that students who are good at using strategies to decrease their
anxiety are better than those who are not when it comes to oral performances. |
