Résumé : |
So many studies have been conducted on code-switching but only few got an
interest in this phenomenon among doctors and their patients. In this study,we
aim to investigate the phenomenon of code-switching in doctor-patient
conversations in the Algerian society and more precisely in contantine private
clinics. Three doctors have been randomly chosen as sample for this stud. The
present research is based on the hypothesis that doctors and patients switch the
code to fulfill some functions. This paper has been devided into two parts,
theoritical part which has the aim to present the linguistic situation in algeria and
code switching. Besides, practical part which dealt with collecting data and the
analysis of our corpus.Recording and observation have been used as a research
instrument. The result of our study seems to support the hypotheses that code
switching is used in the conversation of doctor and his patient in order to
achieve a successful conversation. In adition, we found that doctors switch the
code more than the patient. |

Interference Speaking Profeciency. |

Résumé : |
The present study aims at investigating the influence of the mother tongue in EFL
speaking proficiency. EFL learners still face many speaking difficulties. Many studies have
indicated that oral language development has largely been neglected in the classroom, and
most of the time, oral language in the classroom is used more by teachers than by students.
However, oral language hardly functions as a means for students to gain knowledge and
explore ideas.
The interference of the mother tongue is a serious problem that hinders the development of
the learning process and weakens the students’ speaking proficiency.
Trough this study we want to discover the students’ and teachers’ reasons behind using
the mother tongue in class and especially in oral expression module and provide solutions to
the phenomenon .
We used a descriptive method to carry out the study , for that we designed a questionnaire
for 25 random first year students at Mentouri University 01 and other questionnaire for 07
oral expression teachers at the same university. Those teachers were knowledgeable about the
influence of mother tongue that the students face.
After the analysis of the collected data and the results obtained from both questionnaires, we
arrived to confirm the hypothesis. And suggest solutions to increase the speaking proficiency. |

Oral Presentation Emotional Intelligence Self-Regulation. |
Index. décimale : |
420 Langue anglaise |
Résumé : |
The present study examines the role of self-regulation and emotional intelligence in
enhancing oral performance. Accordingly, it has been recognized that certain students have
limitations in oral delivery, while their linguistic ability is, to a large degree, sufficient. The
focus of this research is therefore to provide a variety of self-regulation strategies along with
essential emotional intelligence components that help second-year LMD English students at
Frères Mentouri University Constantine 1 overcome some of the barriers they face in oral
presentations. For this aim, we have hypothesized that self-regulation along with emotional
control would affect students’ oral performance. To test the reliability of this hypothesis, we
have conducted an investigation into a students’ questionnaire. The following was answered
by fifty-six (56) students of second year LMD students at the department of English at Frères
Mentouri University. The main results of the study revealed that self-regulation and emotional
intelligence are key factors for students to reach their desired performance. The hypothesis
has been confirmed that the use of self-regulation and emotional intelligence by students
improves their oral performance. |
