Résumé : |
Leila Aboulela’s The Kindness of Enemies portrays the distorted image of Muslims in the
eyes of westerners. For this reason, the present research addresses the meaning of Jihad and
terrorism with deep examination on Islamophobia phenomena in the British society particularly.
To achieve this goal, the study resorts to Edward Said’s notion of Orientalism and Michel Foucault’s
concept of power and knowledge. The research follows the qualitative method to answer the why,
the what, and the how of the depicted events in the aforementioned novel. This research is
significant owing to the novelty of the novel and to the sense that it seeks to correct and rectify
the false representation that associate al Muslims with the word Jihad, Al-Qaeda ,and ISIS.
After investigation, it has been revealed that Muslims suffer enormously from issues related to
discrimination,alienationand insecurityinwestern countries. |
