Index. décimale : 420 Langue anglaise Résumé : The present study is conducted to investigate the difficulties that students encounter when translating scientific texts from Arabic to English and the opposite. This work is an attempt to see the problematic areas that make students fail in translation intending to find the possible solutions to overcome this failure hence, to enhance their performance. On light of this, it has been hypothesized that if students raise their awareness and have good scientific knowledge they will not find any difficulty concerning terminological translation and their performance will be enhanced. To test the hypothesis a questionnaire has been administered to translation teachers with a test to students of Master One in the Department of English, University of Constantine 1. The analysis of the findings have given a clear picture of the students’ inability to translate scientific English and Arabic terminology due to many factors among which students lack enough vocabulary knowledge and the ignorance to select the right method. Through the analysis, recommendations as the main reasonable solutions have been suggested to overwhelm the above difficulties in order to facilitate the translation process and especially the scientific translation.
